Doors Open Day 2015

The Church was built as St Mark’s Church between 1868 and 1869.It was designed by Pilkington and Bell in a free Gothic style typical of Frederick T Pilkington. The church was extended in 1879 by Ireland and MacLaren.

Featuring superb stained-glass windows and a raised timbre ceiling, this A-listed church is a unique example of circular congregational seating and aisles.

An ambitious energy efficiency project has recently been completed by the church, grant-assisted by Climate Challenge Fund, you can see the work carried out during your visit.

A project is currently underway to carry out urgent roof repairs, grant-assisted by the Listed Places of Worship Roof Repair Fund, you can also see the progress of this work during your visit.
