Volunteers are vital to the Carbon Savings Project. From sharing repair skills to helping sort donations that are passed on to local people in need, our volunteers help us to support people in need and build a more sustainable, low-carbon community.

“Volunteering for this project has been a huge insight into how much we waste and how much some of this waste is desperately needed by some groups of people in our communities. It has been both rewarding and interesting to learn of some of the active support networks available locally. I’m sure if people were more aware of this plight then other volunteers might step forward”
— Audrey Penny, Reuse Activities Volunteer

We have a wide range of volunteer opportunities for all ages, so no matter how much time you have to give or what your skills are we would love to have you on the team. There are just some examples of areas where you might be able to help:

  • Keeping our Community Fridge stocked with local, healthy food
  • Sorting reusable items which are donated through are Give Box scheme and then passed on to our local charity partners, including Dundee Clothing Project, Togs for Tots, Lifegate Community cafe and Starter Pack Dundee.
  • Teaching others to sew, repair electrical items or grow vegetables in our Carbon Literacy Workshops
  • Sharing your DIY expertise to help us maintain our community owned buildings

If you are passionate about the local community and about green-issues then we want to hear from you!
