Children’s Registration

The Children’s Registartion team helps to connect new families with our Children’s Church activities and ensures that all children attending our events are signed in securely.

Volunteers on the Children’s Registation team are the fist point of contact for families and children coming to Gate Church events. We use an electronic system to register children for their various groups. Children’s Registration volunteers serve at Sunday morning services about once per month and occasionally for special children’s events.

Coffee Bar

Making time to connect with others over a cup coffee is part of creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone who attends our events.

Coffee Bar volunteers serve tea and coffee at both our Sunday morning and evening services and at various events throughout the week. Volunteers normally serve about once or twice per month.

Communications

The communciations team help us connect with our community online. They help maintain our social media pages, creating videos, podcasts and graphics.

If you have skills in photography, film making, graphic design or any other creative communication ideas then this team is for you. The Communications team usually create digital content from home, in their own time, so do not have a regular schedule for their volunteering.

Compassion

Compassion team volunteers look to connect with the elderly and vulnerable in our community. This team organises our High Tea and Hymns events as well as making hospital and care home visits.

Volunteers with the Compassion team serve at our High Tea events which currently take place at Easter and Christmas by serving community members an afternoon tea and taking part in a community sing along. The team also provides pastoral care on an ad hoc basis by visiting church members who are in hospital or elderly care facilities.

Connect

The Connect Team help people to find their next step at Gate Church. Whether it’s finding out more about our services, joining a small group or signing up to volunteer, this team will point you in the right direction!

If you love to help people on their jouney then you are a perfect fit for the Connect Team. Volunteers serve at our Sunday morning service about once per month.

Drivers

Transporting people and equipment to and from Gardyne Theatre for our Sunday morning services. Our volunteer drivers are responsible for either our mini bus shuttle service or our equipment van.

To volunteer as a driver you need a full UK driving licence, but no special category licence is required. Drivers serve on Sunday mornings, once or twice per month. If you aren’t able to drive the bus but still want to help people get to and from our morning service, why not become part of our Lift Share Scheme and offer someone nearby help with getting to church.

Music

Our Music Team are inspired to: Point to the Saviour; Proclaim the greatness of God; Love the house and serve it;  Raise a new generation of worshipers.

In order to audition for the Music team please complete the ‘I Want to Volunteer’ form on our Volunteering page and a member of the team will be in touch to arrange this. Music Team members attend rehearsals on Thursday evenings and serve at morning and evening Sunday services once or twice per month.

Prayer

Praying together for our community and providing prayer ministry for individuals during Sunday services.

Prayer meetings, which are open to all take place on:

- Weekdays, 8AM-9AM

- Sundays, 9:45AM-10:45AM

Volunteers on the prayer team usually attend meeting during the week, at times suitable for them, and also serve at Sunday morning and evening services as needed

Production

The Production Team are responsible for sound mixing, stage lighting and background visuals at all Gate Church events, making them look and feel great.

This team is subdivided into those specialising in sound, lighting and projection. No experience is necessary to join as full training will be given. Volunteers usually serve once or twice per month at either Sunday morning or evening services and occasionally at special events.

Set-up

The Set-up Team are vital to Sunday morning services at our Gardyne Theatre venue. They makes sure all of the equipment gets to the right place at the right time!

Volunteering with the Set-Up Team is a great way to provide practically help in making church happen. You can volunteer to set-up in the mornings or help up take down equipment after the service - whichever suits you best - and we will ask for your help about once per month.

Welcome

Providing a warm welcome to all, this team are the first point of contact for anyone attending our events. All you need to be a great Welcome Team volunteer is a big smile!

Welcome Team volunteers are a big part of what makes Gate Church feel so friendly and warm. They serve about one per month at either our morning of evening Sunday services.
