For those of you who don't know, Community Fridges are communal places where surplus food is shared, by local businesses and individuals. So far Community Fridges have helped thousands connect to their communities, access nutritious food, save money and reduce waste.
Our Dundee West End Community Fridge is located at Miller’s Wynd Car Park, Perth Road, Dundee DD1 4HY
The Fridge is open: 11am - 4pm everyday
How does it work?
Can I donate food?
We need to follow strict rules when allowing food to go into the Community Fridge - this is for everyone’s safety, we hope you understand.
Anyone can donate unprepared fruit and vegetables
Everything else by arrangement - call us and we will arrange to collect or meet you at the Fridge at a suitable time.
We need to check it is safe to eat before it goes in the Fridge.
We can never accept the following:
any food past the “Use by” date or with visible spoilage
food cooked in an unregistered home kitchen
any food (except unprepared fruit/vegetables) with damaged or open packaging
high risk foods including:
- raw meat
- unpasteurised milk
- cooked rice
- raw milk cheeses
- bean sprouts
- products that contain any of the above ingredients
