Learn how to make, use and save money with a Wonder Box! And there's even a free lunch!
What on Earth is a Wonder Box?
A heat retention or slow cooker, that just happens to look a lot like a bean bag. You bring your food to the boil on a hob, then take it off and put it in the Wonder Box, and 1-3 hours later (depending what you're making!) you've got a hot meal waiting for you! Imagine the money you could save on gas and electricity if you only need to use the hob for 5 minutes instead of an hour?!
What is involved?
Over 4 weeks you will be supported to make your own Wonder Box, learning some valuable sewing skills, as well as meeting some new people. Each week you will see the Wonder Box in action as we create different recipes which will provide lunch at the end of the workshop. All materials are provided.
Who is this for?
Here at Gate Church Carbon Saving Project, we want to show people how to sew again, how to consume less home energy, how to eat local/seasonal produce and how to re-use old items... so this ticks all of our boxes. So if any of this sounds interesting to you and you'd like to learn more about environmental issues, come along and give it a go!
Gate Church International, 158 Perth Road, Dundee, DD1 4JS
Starting 7th June 11am - 1pm, each Thursday for 4 weeks. (Don't worry if you can't make one of them, we can work around it!).
