Carbon Saving Project

The Carbon Saving Project aims to make Gate Church International the “Greenest Church in Scotland”.

We have been awarded a grant of £199,796.77 from the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund to help the local community adopt low carbon lifestyles while providing help to those experiencing poverty across Dundee.

At this time we would normally be planning workshops and other ways of encouraging everyone in lowering their carbon footprint, but we, like everyone else, find ourselves having to think of new ways to communicate our message.

Of course, there is no end of information available online, but we are hoping that our blog will help you, interest you, inspire you and maybe even entertain you, whether you are reading it because

  • you are keen to be more green

  • you find you like this simpler life we are all living to some extent

  • you know that life will not be the same again and want to explore new paths

  • you are teaching your children at home and need new ideas

  • you have more time on your hands now

  • you want, or need, to spend a little less money

Expect to find tips on gardening, cooking, upcycling, re-purposing and generally saving money as well as ideas for simple craft projects that will help you lead a more sustainable life. And hopefully a more fun-filled one too!
