I have recently been going through a season where God has been challenging me to trust in Him and to put my hope in Him. I thought that I knew how to do this, but I realised what I was actually doing was putting my hope and my trust in a situation. I had it all planned in my head, and they were good plans and God could have worked through them but (and here's the crucial point) they were not what God had in mind for me.
Instead, God has been calling me to know Him, and then to know Him more and then to decide to declare who He is as I go through my day. He is Faithful, He is my Provider, He is always with me, He is my continual strengthener, He is greater, He is my hope, He is the one that I love.
And just when I didn't expect it and when my eyes were finally fixed on Him, He blessed me in an astounding way, a way that I didn't expect and beyond what I could have hoped for. It reminds me that He is in control and that He has the best perspective for what is right for me. And now through this new faith journey - I know Him more.
I love this song because when I sing "I know who You are", I'm reminding myself that He is Sovereign God.
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
I pray that today you will discover more of who He is.
